Louisville Paving and Construction Co. Wins NAPA's Quality in Construction Award

The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced today that Louisville Paving & Construction Co. of Louisville, Ky., won a 2016 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement. The company received its award today at a ceremony during the association’s 62nd Annual Meeting in Orlando.

“The goal of every paving contractor is to build a high-quality road — a road that meets and exceeds stringent performance requirements,” said 2016 NAPA Chairman Kevin Kelly. “Earning a Quality in Construction Award shows a strong commitment to quality from a contractor who measures their project against industry best practices. In earning this Quality in Construction Award, Louisville Paving & Construction Co. has constructed a safe, quiet, smooth asphalt pavement.”

Louisville Paving & Construction Co. won the award for the resurfacing of the Springs Retail Association parking lot. The company worked at night and had each section completed and striped before the retail businesses opened each morning. It also used sustainable paving practices, incorporating 21 percent reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into mixes to reduce the use of virgin materials. Louisville Paving & Construction Co. produced a smooth, high-quality pavement with minimal inconvenience to shoppers.

The first is NAPA’s 2017 Diamond Achievement Commendation. This recognition covers operations both at the manufacturing plant and around the plant site. Aspects addressed include appearance, operations, environmental practices, safety, permitting and regulatory compliance, and community relations

The second award is the Diamond Quality Commendation. This award deals with the quality of the material produced. Areas evaluated include quality management, RAP and aggregate handling, asphalt storage, drying and mixing, air quality, truck scales, silos, and control rooms.

And the third recognition is the Diamond Paving Commendation. This recognition is designed for paving crews. Areas evaluated include training of supervisors and crew members, use of best practices in paving, and compliance.



Louisville Paving and Construction Co. Wins National Award For Quality In Asphalt Paving

Lanham, Md. — The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced today that Louisville Paving & Construction Co. of Louisville, Ky., has won a 2014 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement. The company received its award on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at a ceremony during the association’s 60th Annual Meeting in Marco Island, Fla.

“Quality pavements are something every road builder strives to construct. We want to build pavements that deliver on the promise of high performance and drivability for the public,” said William C. Ensor III, NAPA 2014 Chairman. “Projects that earn a Quality in Construction Award have been measured against industry best practices designed to live up to that promise. I’m proud to say that, in earning a 2014 QIC Award, Louisville Paving & Construction Co. has met or exceeded these rigorous quality standards.”

Louisville Paving & Construction Co. won the award for its work on I-64/Louisville Lexington Road in Shelby County. The three-phase project included reconstruction and widening of the original four-lane interstate to six lanes and bridge reconstruction. The project required multiple lane and traffic changes. Partnering with other subcontractors, Louisville Paving & Construction Co. met a tight schedule and produced a smooth-riding, quality asphalt pavement.
